Your whole surf check. One map.
PureSurfers is an independent surf-planning and learning project. The point is simple: spend less time assembling a picture from scattered tabs and more time understanding the ocean in front of you.
For the love of it.
The ocean should be a place of discovery, not a secret handshake. We want practical knowledge, local names and the history of the sport to remain available to the people who care about them. Surf Insights is free to read: no paywall, no email gate, no requirement to become a customer.
Surfing is individual. Your body, board, experience and conditions change what works. Take these guides as a useful starting point, not a commandment. Research, firsthand observations and provisional descriptions are distinguished in our editorial policy.

The atlas combines a coastal catalogue with regional forecasts, reference observations, wind, tides and other planning tools. Some original entries display modeled breaking-face estimates; newer area references show regional significant wave height instead. Neither is a sensor at every takeoff. Read the forecast methods before comparing unlike numbers.
A location may be approximate. A familiar name does not establish safe conditions, open access or permission to cross land. We preserve publicly documented knowledge without inventing precise directions to unresolved locations.
Keep the knowledge. Respect the people.
We welcome specific corrections, source material and observations. Contributors may choose public credit or no public name. We do not need a personal biography, a home address or a private route to make a useful correction. We do not publish private correspondence as a testimonial without permission.
Give other surfers room, avoid interrupting a ride, use legitimate access and leave the beach better than you found it. Sharing knowledge and treating a place with care should go together.
Who publishes this?
Built by Peter Ochabski, a surfer, designer and developer. The project combines firsthand contributions with sourced research; it is not a staffed forecasting agency.

Beta & optional project support
PureSurfers is in public beta. Optional support helps fund the work while the atlas develops toward a membership model. The free lessons remain a gift to the surfing community. The people who use the site are not required to pay to test it.
