Built by a surfer who wanted a better surf check.

I’m Peter Ochabski: a surfer, designer and developer, and the person building PureSurfers. I wanted to compare the coast without opening a pile of websites or losing the pleasure of exploring it.

The map brings that information together. Surf Insights is my gift back to the community: practical lessons to help people get past the avoidable frustrations and reach the joy in surfing.

What I bring—and what the sources bring

My background spans visual development, illustration, interface design and software. I’ve also spent years designing and 3D-printing surf fins. The eventual fin and board-design material deserves its own careful treatment.

My firsthand reports are credited where used. The broader catalogue and researched lessons draw on other sources and AI-assisted drafting; my name here does not mean I have surfed every break, personally tested every instruction, or professionally validated the forecast models.

Help make it better

Local observations and thoughtful corrections are welcome through the existing contact page. The tools are here to help plan a session; the final decision still belongs to the surfer looking at the actual ocean.

Surfing is individual. A useful starting point is not a rule that every body, board and break must obey.
