These terms describe the intended use of PureSurfers and its free information tools. Read them alongside the privacy policy and forecast-methods page.
Planning and education, not a safety service
Forecasts, observations, maps, spot classifications, articles and alerts are provided for general planning and learning. Data may be approximate, delayed, incomplete or wrong. The site does not guarantee a wave size, open access, water quality, safe conditions or notification delivery.
Use local notices, observed conditions, appropriate instruction and your own judgment. Do not treat a pin as permission to cross private property, a difficulty color as a safety clearance, or the absence of an alert as evidence that nothing has changed. This is not a navigational chart or emergency communication service.
Accounts and notifications
Use an email address you control and protect sign-in codes and session access. Do not access another person’s account, submit someone else’s address for unwanted messages or interfere with the service. Optional email and push features depend on separate settings and permissions. You can change these as described in the FAQ.
Features, availability and source coverage can change. There is no promised service-level agreement for the free atlas. Keep your own copies of important local field notes; a local export is not a full account backup.
Content and contributions
Original PureSurfers interface and editorial material and third-party maps, imagery, data and trademarks retain their respective rights. You are welcome to link to public pages. Reuse must respect applicable law, source attribution and any provider licence; a public page is not a blanket licence to bulk copy or commercially redistribute every underlying dataset.
Submit only material you have a right to share. Do not send another person’s private information, access codes or protected material as though it were yours. Sending a correction does not automatically publish it or transfer ownership of your photographs. Tell us what may be quoted or credited; obtain agreement before providing material for publication.
Respect the service and its providers
Do not bypass authentication, evade rate limits, probe for credentials, inject malicious code, send spam or disrupt the site. Automated collection must respect access controls and the relevant data-provider terms. We may restrict abusive access to protect the service.
External cameras, map services and other linked sites are operated independently. Their content, availability, charges and privacy practices are their responsibility, not a guarantee made by PureSurfers.
Limits and changes
The free information tools are offered without a promise of uninterrupted service or suitability for a particular surf session. Nothing here excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded. These terms do not impose an arbitration agreement or claim to resolve every legal issue that might arise.
