A documented ephemeral pier break whose slough-side left was once the better line—and could occasionally run through the pier.

In spring 1963 both sides reportedly broke for more than a month, with the left approaching the pier from the slough side preferred. The February 1964 storm changed the bottom and it was never as dependable again.
