This model reports only zeros across its cached partition forecast while another model reports swell. This is not confirmation of flat surf. Check the other source or try refreshing later.
Each model supplies its own partitions. Missing components remain unavailable; another model’s primary swell is not automatically the same wave system.

Model spread is not a confidence interval. Tide and wind are context, not new corrections to surf size. Larger sets and changing hazards remain possible.

Know the spot
Doheny Rivermouth is kept separate from First Point for the catalogue’s more energetic, shorter-ride setup around the mouth and its changing sand.

Separate from First Point because it can turn on with more punch and shorter rides. Source note: Imported 6.8 catalogue; place and confirm the takeoff.
Before paddling out: Crowds, changing bars, pollution after rain and rips.

THE FIELD GUIDE / Doheny Rivermouth
Read this stretch of coast.
Treat the bank as today’s information
The satellite image is an orientation aid, not a current survey of the mouth or sandbar. Watch several sets to find the actual breaking line and any channel moving water back out. A previous session’s takeoff or entry route may not fit the bank in front of you.
Look for the second system
Compare the primary swell with any secondary swell and wind sea supplied by the selected model. Different approach directions can matter to the shape of a changing bank. Keep the model names attached to your notes; a primary component in one model is not necessarily the same system as another model’s primary.
Check more than wave size
The catalogue flags changing bars, rips, crowding and water-quality changes after rain. Use current beach notices and official water-quality information before deciding on a session. The forecast cannot establish whether the mouth is open, whether the water is suitable for swimming, or whether a particular entry is clear today.

A useful note for next time
Record the section you actually surfed, the time, incoming swell direction and period, wind and tide trend. Add what the wave did: connected sections, closeouts, drift or exposed obstacles. Comparing that observation with the same model next time is more useful than treating one colored number as the whole session.
